Buy and sell in minutes

31st March 2007 Print
Gemma Downes - homebuyer George Wimpey is giving visitors to three of their developments in South Wales on Saturday 14 April the chance to buy a new home and sell their old home in minutes.

The initiative has never been done before by any house builder in the UK and will be available at Winchester Gardens in Pontprennau, Cardiff, Cae Sannan in Aberbargoed and Cae Ffynnon in Abertridwr.

Visitors to the developments will have their current home ‘valued while they wait’ by a team of qualified estate agents. This could see them selling their existing home to George Wimpey and taking one of their new ones under their part exchange scheme.

Those wishing to take up George Wimpey’s free evaluation service offer will need to come prepared.

Sales and marketing director, Richard Goad, explains: “All people need to do is bring along photographs of their homes. Pictures on a digital camera or mobile phone will do. We need a couple of the exterior and a couple of the main rooms, such as the kitchen and the lounge, and an idea of the dimensions of the house.”

A team of evaluation experts will be at each of the three sites and will use the images and information to assess the value of the house.

Richard said: “The whole process of buying and selling can be quite lengthy and usually to have an evaluation done you need to arrange for an estate agent to come to your home and the whole process can take an hour or so. Often people feel like it is a balancing act and they are trying to juggle the buying of one home with the selling of another. On Saturday, it can be done in minutes.”

Details of the developments where the offer is valid are as follows:

Cae Ffynnon in Abertridwr, which offers an exclusive selection of three and four bedroom homes in Caerphilly. Homes range from The Usk, a 3-bed semi detached home with integral garage and ensuite bathroom at £174,995 to The Richmond which is a spacious 4-bed with ensuite, study room and French doors to the rear garden at £240,995.

Cae Sannan in Aberbargoed, which offers beautifully designed and spacious new homes that will suit those with growing families or those couples looking for a value for money large home. Homes range from the Conway, a three bedroom detached home, at £166,995 to the four bed detached Morlais at £199,995.

Winchester Gardens in Pontprennau, Cardiff, which offers a wide choice of spacious family detached homes. These include the popular Richmond 1600 square foot detached home from only £350,00 to The Kington – a four bedroom detached property at only £309,995.
