Solicitors top home-moving frustrations poll

13th April 2007 Print
As the UK enters the home-moving season in earnest, solicitors have taken the number one slot in a poll of home-movers’ biggest frustrations.

iammoving.com asked over 1,000 home-movers to nominate the aspects that frustrated them the most. Solicitors came top of the bill with 43 per cent of the vote.

Estate agents came in second position with 28 per cent of the votes, followed closely by the task of transferring services between homes with 25 per cent. The other four per cent of the votes were weather and removals frustrations.

Eileen Rutschmann, CEO of iammoving.com explains, "Moving house is a stressful experience for even the most organised people, especially when the biggest frustrations are out of our control. The results of this poll show how one of the key players in the home-moving process is proving to be the biggest hassle, and surprisingly its solicitors this time as opposed to estate agents who usually get the blame. Probably indicative of our ever-increasing stressful lives where we want and need everything done yesterday.

"As a company we are in the business of helping make the process easier. Although we can’t yet ease all of the burdens, at least notifying key organisations of your new address from a single point, and for free, is one less aspect of the experience to get frustrated about."

To help home-movers in all aspects of moving, iammoving.com has a free moving guide, which is available from its website.

iammoving.com is a free online service (in association with Royal Mail) which enables the home-movers to notify all organisations of their move – from charities, to TV Licensing, utilities, banks, retailers and memberships.
