Chesterton Head of New Homes comments on HIPs
Julian Sedgwick, Director and Head of New Homes at Chesterton Global, comments: “The new homes market has effectively been producing the equivalent of HIPs for many years, so the new incarnation will require little or no extra work on the part of developers and I think it will have the effect of strengthening the sales process.“All compulsory elements of the HIP are covered: when a developer acquires land they undertake a full and thorough local search, information which is already made available to end-buyers; the Standard Assessment Procedure (SAP) is the equivalent of and can easily be converted into the Energy Performance Report (EPR); all buyers are contractually aware of exactly what the property comes with such as carpets, fixtures and fittings and all homes come with a NHBC warranty.”
