Surge in membership as ‘H-Day’ fast approaches

23rd April 2007 Print
With less than 30 working days until Home Information Packs (HIPs) become a reality across England and Wales, the Association of Home Information Pack Providers (AHIPP) has reported a surge in membership enquires, as more organisations look to play an active role in this house buying revolution.

Membership numbers are up over 30% in the last three months, with AHIPP now representing the majority of the pack providing industry – offering members a vital link to HIPs related advice and information and a collective voice that holds weight across the industry.

Mike Ockenden Director General, AHIPP said: “The reality of HIPs is almost upon us as the June 1st deadline looms, and an increasing number of organisations are looking to take a more active role in this important, house buying and selling reform.

“HIPs regulations are now in place and the Government’s advertising campaign is building a greater consumer awareness of packs across the country. A growing number of organisations, many of which have played an active part in the early roll out activities, are now looking to join the Association to gain access to a widening pool of information and contacts, in addition to up-to-date information on any industry developments or requirements.”

Jeff Smith, CEO of new AHIPP member, HIP Facilities Group said: “This is a great time to be joining the association. With the 1st June only a matter of weeks away the HIP industry is really gaining momentum.

“We are committed to the success of HIPs and are delighted to be playing such an active role in this much needed house buying and selling reform.”
