OneMove provide free* Home Information Packs (HIPS)

OneMove, the free nationwide service that makes moving quicker and easier for both vendors and buyers, has today announced the launch of FREE Home Information Packs (HIPs) to any UK house sellers who instruct a OneMove-approved conveyancer during the month of June 2007*. The free HIP promotion will save sellers £399, the recommended retail price of a standard HIP arranged through OneMove's network of estate agents.

"A free HIP gives OneMove customers an incredible opportunity," says Neil Patel, CEO of OneMove. "HIPs have received a lot of bad press in recent months, but OneMove is here to make the whole HIP issue a lot less painful, by picking up the tab for our customers and giving them one less thing to worry about. With the uncertainty around at the moment regarding HIPs, the one certain thing you know that they are going to cost you money - except with OneMove of course!"

Home Information Packs will become mandatory in the UK from 1st June. At the moment, all HIPs will contain the same compulsory documents (such as copies of the legal title, Local Authority and Water searches, the Energy Performance Certificate and a list of contents), but may also include some optional elements, such as a list of fixtures and fittings included in the sale, guarantees and invoices for alterations and improvements that have been carried out to the property.

The Free HIP promotion comes just one month after the launch of OneMove's Home Buyer's Expense Insurance (HBEI), which helps house buyers to protect the financial risk that has become part and parcel of the house buying process. HBEI helps to alleviate the worry and fear associated with common house buying pitfalls - such as gazumping, leaving buyers safe in the knowledge that they are covered by a reputable provider if anything goes wrong with their purchase.
