Working from home With more and more business’ ensuring employees get a decent work-life balance, home working has been on the increase year on year, with The Work Foundation reporting that people choosing to work from home has increased by 13 per cent each year since 1997.

With this in mind, Persimmon Homes Anglia has a host of properties at its Stour Croft development, all suited to those who choose to work part or full time from home.

“The modern working environment means gone are the days when nine to five meant clocking in and out of the office and rush hour lasted just an hour,” comments Jon Gibbs, sales director for Persimmon Homes Anglia. “At Persimmon we believe that our housetypes need to change with modern purchasers’ requirements, which is why we are offering a range of homes suited to home workers at our Stour Croft site.”

Take for example the three bedroom, three storey Drayton design, with a second floor ideal for transforming into a home office away from the hubbub of family life. Priced from just £180,950, this design has three good sized bedrooms, all of which benefit from having fitted wardrobes.

Jon continues: “We all get that ‘end of the week’ feeling when we just can’t face another fraught journey to and from the office although not everyone has the office space to facilitate working and relaxing in the same property.

“The serious home worker needs more than just a computer base and screen and setting up an efficient home office requires lots of careful planning. However a move into one of the homes at Stour Croft, with dedicated space readily available, takes all of the hassle out of renovating a room in an older property for example.

“Working from home offers obvious practical benefits – no more frantic journeys, not getting embroiled in office politics, the ability to work at your own time and pace, the list is endless, but the most important benefit is that it enables workers to spend more quality time with the family.”

The picturesque town of Sudbury, located one of mile away, offers an abundance of local amenities including shops, restaurants and pubs as well as leisure facilities and a monthly farmers market. The development itself is situated ideally for those wanting to commute, with Colchester just a short drive away via the A13.
