Telford Homes’ site managers take pride in their work Telford Homes has scored a double win at the prestigious NHBC awards for the work of two of its site managers on developments in North and East London. Damian Barden and Luke Heslin have been selected from over 18,000 site managers across the UK to receive one of just 400 Quality awards in the NHBC ‘Pride in the Job’ competition, for the Icona and Cosmopolitan developments respectively.

The competition seeks out the UK’s best-run sites and recognises their managers creating high quality and beautifully finished homes. The drive for quality is an integral part of NHBC’s role of helping to raise standards in the new homes industry.

Damian and Luke were judged to have demonstrated consistently high standards in all aspects of their work from their technical knowledge, through to their leadership and organization skills. They were entered in the multi-storey builder category for the Icona in Stratford and Cosmopolitan in Enfield and will collect their awards at a ceremony in September.

Icona is an architecturally striking residential development situated on Warton Road in Stratford E15. Standing 18 storeys at its tallest, providing 249 one and two bedroom apartments and penthouses, including Affordable Housing with East Homes, and 325 square metres of retail space, Icona forms an impressive landmark being the first new development overlooking the 2012 Olympic Park. Icona was launched and sold out in autumn 2005. Completions are anticipated from January 2008.

Cosmopolitan is a collection of 69 studios, one and two bedroom apartments for private sale plus 20 Affordable Housing homes for MHT. It is a modern development that has been designed around a large, piazza-style garden square featuring a large-scale in-built sun dial. Cosmopolitan will be completing by the end of 2007 allowing residents to move in shortly.

Mark Parker and John Fitzgerald, Managing Directors of Telford Homes’ Metro and Alto divisions agree that it is very gratifying that the sterling work of site managers Damian Barden and Luke Heslin has been recognised by the NHBC. They take great pride in the quality of build on all developments and are thrilled to have won these prestigious and coveted awards.
