New director for Persimmon in Severn Valley

David is delighted to have joined the UK’s largest housebuilder, and in addition to his role as member of the regional board, will lead a team of sales professionals in a region spanning the Forest-of-Dean, South Gloucestershire, Bristol and North Somerset.
“I am delighted to have joined the Severn Valley region at such an exciting time in its development,” commented David. “The opportunity to be involved in the creation and expansion of a new Persimmon region was a challenge I simply couldn’t resist. I was particularly attracted to the company because although part of a large group, Persimmon regions are given the freedom to operate in a totally entrepreneurial way in order to adapt and meet the needs of local buyers, planners and market conditions. As a team we have ambitious plans for the Severn Valley region and I am thoroughly looking forward to driving sales forward.”
Managing director Carl Haley comments: “David’s comprehensive experience in property sales and marketing will doubtlessly prove invaluable to the success of the Severn Valley region. His expertise in launching new developments will be crucial as we look to expand the region into areas in which Persimmon has not developed previously and I am delighted to welcome him to the team.”
With over 20 years experience in the property industry, David Wild began his career working for an estate agency before opening his own agency in 1990. In 1995 David was approached by property consultants, Savills and invited to set up a regional new homes business which he subsequently spent five years developing. In 2000, David joined Swan Hill as sales and marketing director for five years before the company was acquired by The Raven Group.
Persimmon Homes Severn Valley has assumed responsibility for a number of sites previously managed by both Persimmon Wessex and Persimmon South West, encompassing an area spanning the Forest-of-Dean, South Gloucestershire, Bristol and North Somerset.
Sites acquired by Persimmon Homes Severn Valley from the restructuring of the Wessex and South West regions include 700 units in Portishead, over 450 units in Weston-Super-Mare, some 500 units in Bridgwater plus a substantial development in Stroud. Alongside this, the company has already acquired sites in Dursley, Gloucestershire, Burnham-on-Sea, Somerset and Ashley Down, Bristol with plans to focus strongly on further opportunities within the city. The region also has a strong strategic land bank and will be promoting new sites such as Weston Airfield for development over the next few years.
Persimmon Severn Valley will be moving to purpose built offices in Weston-super-Mare during 2008, but are currently based in Bridgwater. The company currently employs 25 members of staff.
Married with two young children, David’s hobbies include football, golf and fishing.
