Berkeley First appoints new member

Berkeley First, the division of the Berkeley Group dedicated to providing attainable homes for all, has announced the appointment of Karl Wightwick as its new Head of Sales and Marketing.

Karl joins Berkeley First from Howard Holdings Plc, where he held the role of UK Sales Manager, having previously held a senior position at Liberty Property Trust. He brings with him extensive experience in pre-planning product development and sales.

Karl has been appointed to assist Berkeley First as it expands from providing student accommodation and key-worker homes, in partnership with RSLs, into the private market. With changing demographic trends and increasing house prices, a gap in the market has opened up for the provision of well-designed attainable homes which are accessible to young professionals and private buyers who are keen to get on the property ladder. Berkeley First wants to raise the bar by creating homes which are truly accessible to all, redefining the term ‘affordable’ and bringing the first rung of the property ladder within reach of a wider market.

Karl will be working on current Berkeley First projects, including 661 London Road, Isleworth, a development of 190 one, two and three bed apartments; Time House, Clapham, 36 studio, one and two bed apartments, and Pier Road, Gillingham, which includes over 800 waterfront homes.
