Easirent.com launches HIREaBOX self storage service

A new self-storage service, HIREaBOX, has been recently launched in the North West of England and is being initially ‘trialled’ in the Wigan, Preston, Liverpool and Rochdale areas.
HIREaBOX is a subsidiary of Easirent.com, the nationwide on-line company that offers an extensive list of car and vehicle related services. Easirent supplies vehicles and equipment ranging from small cars, vans, people carriers, 4x4s, and motorhomes through to 44 tonne commercial vehicles and generators to the private user and business sectors.
With regard to self-storage two questions always crop up – where do I put all my possessions and how do I get them there and back?
HIREaBOX is the answer to both of these questions. The new concept is based upon the traditional and popular self-storage model but is unique because the storage unit is delivered directly to the customer for them to load their goods at their own premises.
This cuts the expense that would normally be incurred in van hire costs. But the main advantages are convenience, as there are no time constraints, it reduces the chance of damage as goods are being handled less and has the added benefit of the customer having personal control over loading.
John Scully, General Manager of HIREaBOX said, “Our business plan closely follows the American example where mobile self-storage is already a well established and extremely popular method of moving and storing excess goods.”
“HIREaBOX is an evolution of the traditional self-storage service, currently one of the UK’s fastest growing business sectors. We are adding the convenience of having the self storage, or space-saver unit, delivered directly to the customer’s doorstep and then collected again when the client has finished the loading in their own time.”
“This is widely seen within the trade as a natural progression and we at HIREaBOX are at the very forefront of this exciting new development.”
The high quality storage units measure 16’ x 8’ x 8’ wide, 1024 cubic feet, and are able to hold the equivalent of a typical two bedroomed house. The HIREaBOX units are delivered to the loading locations by the operators and then are gently lowered to ground level and left for the customer to load at their leisure.
Once loading is complete, the HIREaBOX unit door is locked and key kept by the customer. The unit can, depending upon individual requirements, remain on site, acting as an extra storeroom or warehouse, or if required, be uplifted by our vehicle and taken for safekeeping to the HIREaBOX secure Self-Store warehouse at Standish near Wigan.
The customer may access storage units at any time within normal working hours, as with a traditional self-storage service. The units are then redelivered as and when required in accordance with the client’s instructions.
The management of HIREaBOX believe that the scope for this service is almost limitless. Company Director, Paul Hanley said, “We have been closely monitoring the success of the mobile storage business in other parts of the world for some time. It is clear that there is very substantial growth potential in the UK for this method of self- storage.”
He added, “Almost anyone can benefit from using our HIREaBOX service. Alongside residential users, we are also targeting businesses and the public sector as potential clients. Our fleet of HIREaBOX units are clean, dry, sturdy and fully lined. We are pleased to have already received expressions of interest from a wide range of industries and services such as the National Health Service, the Fire Service and the National Trust, amongst many others.”
