Persimmon has a ball raising cash for charity

Several entertainment acts kept guests amused throughout the event including a jazz duo, comedy waiters, plus two Grecian ‘living statues’ whose sudden movements surprised more than a couple of people! After boogieing the night away on a glittering dance floor to a live eight piece band, guests who had worked off their three course dinner rounded off the night with some well earned bacon butties.
“Our commitment to raising funds for Marie Curie Cancer Care has remained as enthusiastic as it began this year and we are delighted that the annual ball’s final fundraising push raised so much money,” commented Steve Roche, managing director for Persimmon Homes Wessex.
“Every year we see thousands of families move happily into one of our homes, but statistics show that one in three of us will be affected by cancer at some time in our lives. Marie Curie Nurses provide invaluable support for cancer patients who want to be cared for in their own home. From large corporate events to individual contributions, the whole team has embraced the fundraising spirit and we would like to thank everyone in the region who has supported our efforts throughout 2007.”
Marie Curie Nurse, Catherine Le Roy who accepted the fundraising cheque from Persimmon Homes added: “We’re extremely grateful for the generous support and commitment Persimmon Homes has given the charity throughout this year. The money Persimmon has donated will allow us to continue providing Marie Curie Nurses so that terminally ill people in the region can be cared for in comfort of their own homes. It will make a tremendous difference to the lives of both patients and their families”.
Persimmon Homes Wessex is currently constructing new homes at 17 developments across the region which encompasses Wiltshire, Avon, North Somerset, Gloucestershire and Oxfordshire.
