Peter 'comes home' to Redrow

11th January 2008 Print
Peter 'comes home' to Redrow Winning a competition to design a house at the age of 14 set Peter Carpinelli on a career in housing that’s now lasted more than 25 years. Peter has joined Redrow Homes (South West) as managing director – and it’s his second stint with the award winning housebuilder, having previously worked as a regional architect for them in the south east of England during the mid 1990s.

Peter, now 42, entered the house building industry as a drawing office trainee for a local company in his home town of Swindon when he left school at 16. He worked his way up the ladder to design director and then managing director with various regional and national housebuilders across the south of England.

He joined Redrow from his most recent post at David Wilson Homes, where he was managing director of their Bristol-based south west and south Wales operation.

At Redrow he is overseeing a business with offices in Bristol and Exeter and on-going developments throughout Gloucestershire, Wiltshire, Somerset, Devon and Cornwall.

Peter says: “I was delighted to rejoin Redrow, already being familiar with the quality of its product and the calibre of its people. In the South West I have inherited a very strong and stable team that is mostly long established, with the addition of a few new faces to help introduce fresh ideas.

“We are very much focused on growing the business and acquiring land for new developments, especially in Devon and Cornwall, where our Devonport regeneration project in association with English Partnerships is very much the ‘backbone’ of our Exeter based operation.

“Likewise our new 77-acre urban village, Cheswick, in Filton, will be at the forefront of developments managed from our Bristol base.”

Born in Swindon, where he still lives with his wife Lisa and their three children, aged 16, 12 and nine, Peter enjoys spending spare time in Italy, where his family roots lie. He is also a keen supporter of Chelsea FC – something that can lead to family rivalries, as his eldest son Giancarlo plays for Swindon Town FC’s School of Excellence U16s!

Redrow Homes (South West) is currently building in Gloucester and Nailsworth, in Gloucestershire, at Malmesbury, Chippenham and Westbury, in Wiltshire, Bath and Weston-super-Mare, in Somerset, Tavistock, Devonport, Plympton, Winkleigh and Barnstaple, in Devon, and Launceston, in Cornwall, with new developments due to launch in Filton, north Bristol, Cirencester, Glos and Newton Abbot, Devon.
