George Wimpey launches Easy Start scheme George Wimpey has launched an innovative new scheme designed to make it easier for buyers to get on and move up the property ladder by only paying 75% of the price now of their new home.

With Easy Start the buyer contributes a 5% deposit and secures a mortgage on the remaining 70% through Halifax. George Wimpey then steps in by providing a rent and interest-free loan on the remaining 25% of the purchase price for up to ten years. From day one, the purchaser owns 100% of their new home for 75% of the price.

The scheme is available on a range of George Wimpey homes at Chatsworth Gardens development in Wavertree Gardens. The shared equity scheme will be available on Chatsworth Gardens' range of stylish two bedroom apartments, including the Cambourne, Kendal and Shipley. Prices start at £139,995.

"This scheme just couldn't be more straightforward," says Marie Wilkinson, regional sales and marketing director for George Wimpey North West.

"The purchaser owns 100% of the property from day one and is free to make payments during the 10 years period to suit their individual circumstances - this could mean up to three smaller payments, repaying the total amount early or waiting until the end of the period.

"We believe that this is just the sort of simple and effective scheme that buyers are looking for at the moment and we're expecting a great deal of interest from savvy buyers."
