Home sweet home at Brecon View Park

Home sweet home at Brecon View Park "There's no place like home" for one couple who moved to Barratt's popular Brecon View Park development in the semi-rural town of Merthyr Tydfil. An unexpected new arrival means they will have to move to a larger house, but they intend to find another property on the same site.

Sarah (26) and Andrew Jones (32) moved into a two-bedroom Roseberry semi-detached house with 20-month-old daughter Erin in December.

"We moved here thinking our family was complete, but we recently discovered that I am expecting another baby," said Sarah. "We really love our house but will obviously need something larger, so we're putting it back on the market.

"We're hoping to move to the larger Palmerston style semi-detached house here at Brecon View Park - it's a lovely family home with a spacious lounge, three bedrooms and a downstairs cloakroom.

"We need to think long-term but we don't want to leave this development as we're settled here now. It's nice and quiet and we like the neighbours, so it makes sense for us to stay put."

Brecon View Park offers a wide selection of homes, from two and three-bedroom semi-detached properties up to five-bedroom detached houses. Prices range from £157,500 for the three bedroom, semi-detached Palmerston design to £269,995 for the five-bedroom, detached Ascot.

Although the development enjoys an elevated hilltop setting, with stunning views of the Brecon Beacons, it is also close to local amenities. These include a leisure centre and the Cyfartha Retail Park, which boasts numerous high street stores. Merthyr Tydfil's town centre offers a wealth of shops and Cardiff is just a 40-minute drive away.
