Pride In the Job awarded to Persimmon Homes East Midlands Persimmon Homes East Midlands is pleased to announce that not one but two of its site managers, Paul Howes and Steve Summers have been awarded the acclaimed Pride In The Job Award from the NHBC.

The competition recognises and rewards site managers who consistently demonstrate commitment to high standards in housebuilding. Pride in the Job is now in its 27th year and the award is highly recognised by the housebuilding industry. It can help build individual careers and enhance professional reputations. Also, the award is increasingly recognised by homebuyers who are looking for a quality product and excellent customer care.

Paul Howes, site manager at Persimmon's Martingales development in Watlington, comments: "The assessment for the awards is conducted independently across the UK and I am thrilled to receive the award while working with Persimmon. This year marks my 13th year with the Persimmon Group and I have been working at Martingales for 18 months and believe this award reflects the hard work of the team on site and the high standard of the site itself. I feel very proud."

Meanwhile, Steve Summers has been site manager at Persimmon Gardens in Chatteris since the development started in July 2007. He adds: "This is the first time I've won the award and I believe the win is a result of the spirit of the team - we actually care about the work we do and always do our very best. I like Paul am very proud of what we have achieved."

Paul and Steve will now go forward to compete in the next stage of the competition, The Seal of Excellence Awards. After that, there are two further rounds, the Regional Awards and the UK Supreme Awards.

Homes available at Persimmon Gardens in Chatteris include one bedroom coach houses, as well as two, three, four and five bedroom housetypes. The market town of Chatteris has a host of local amenities as well as two primary schools and a secondary school. Cambridge, Huntingdon and Peterborough are just a short distance away and via the M11, the bright lights of London are easily accessible.

At Martingales in Watlington, Paul and the team are building a fantastic selection of two, three and four bedroom homes priced to suit a wide variety of budgets. The development is being constructed around a series of cul-de-sacs, making it a peaceful place to call home, eliminating the worry of through traffic. At the centre of the site is an area of public open space for residents to enjoy.
