Recent research* suggests that the UK has little concern about the health hazards that may lie in our dirty laundry, with only 2% recognising that it can contain harmful bacteria. In fact, clean and hygienic laundry practices are very important to everyday health to prevent the spread of potentially dangerous illness-causing germs harboured in dirty laundry, which if washed near food preparation can cause unwanted cross-contamination.

This is being addressed by Crest Nicholson Regeneration Ltd which has removed the daily occurrence of washing away from the kitchen, where it typically takes place in modern homes.
