Squeaky clean homes in a spin
Recent research* suggests that the UK has little concern about the health hazards that may lie in our dirty laundry, with only 2% recognising that it can contain harmful bacteria. In fact, clean and hygienic laundry practices are very important to everyday health to prevent the spread of potentially dangerous illness-causing germs harboured in dirty laundry, which if washed near food preparation can cause unwanted cross-contamination.This is being addressed by Crest Nicholson Regeneration Ltd which has removed the daily occurrence of washing away from the kitchen, where it typically takes place in modern homes. The separate space has enough room for a washing machine/tumble dryer and has been applied to all of its Regeneration schemes across the UK.
Ian Plumley, Sales and Marketing Director at Crest Nicholson Regeneration Ltd comments:
“Separate laundry areas are usually not very well planned. We have gone to great lengths, wherever possible, to make the maximum use of space in the apartments across all of our schemes to suit the needs of prospective homeowners. The decision was made early in the planning stages when designing the layout of the kitchen to remove the washing machine into a separate laundry space. This gives homeowners more flexibility and removes the noise and general upheaval that washing generates. More importantly it takes away dirty washing from the cooking area and with it any hidden germs, making for a healthier, cleaner kitchen.
“Washing machines and tumble dryers in the kitchen typically produce high amounts of humidity, dust, vapours and put cleaning solutions near food preparation. The extra space for the washing machine/tumble dryer is an added attraction and a welcome and hygienic addition across our developments.”
All Crest Nicholson Regeneration Ltd developments include fully fitted kitchens with integrated ceramic hob, stainless steel extractor hood, dishwasher and fridge freezer.
