Charles Church staff cycle Twin Peaks for charity Credit crunch or no credit crunch, the housebuilder Charles Church and its suppliers have shown that they are still extremely charitable and have raised a grand total of £3,500 for charity after team members took part in a charity cycle ride.

Despite the credit crunch, staff at Charles Church Wales pulled together and put their best feet forward to take part in a 50 mile charity bike ride. The team of seven took on the Twin Peaks cycle ride - a journey which took them from the peak of Charles Church's Aurora development in Swansea to the peak at the Century Wharf development in Cardiff Bay - and finished in six hours.

To raise the money, Chares Church Wales asked each of its suppliers for a donation of £50. Many of the suppliers - including Amman Concrete Products in Ammanford, Cole Contractors Cardiff, Eversheds from Cardiff, JJ & JL LEE of Swansea, Osborne & Shellard also of Swansea and South Wales Contractors Ltd of Bridgend - made donations of £100 or more.

Andrew Crompton, Managing Director for Charles Church Wales, says: "This is a great way of highlighting that when the going gets tough the tough doesn't necessarily get going! Even though times are hard, our suppliers and staff have dug deep into their pockets in the name of charity and raised over £3,500 for a good cause."

The money has been donated to Dreams Come True - Charles Church's chosen charity. Dreams Come True is a charity that makes the dreams of terminally or seriously ill children become a reality. In the last five years, Charles Church has raised more than £500,000 for the cause.
