Make the most of what you’ve got

The current lack of confidence in the property market means, for many, moving house is no longer an option and making the most of your current home is the most sensible strategy. As energy prices continue to rise, environmentally friendly improvements and energy saving measures have to be a consideration. Indeed new building regulations insist upon it. But it is money well spent, not only to keep up with energy efficiency demands but to save money and salve your eco-conscience.
The London Homebuilding & Renovating Show is the only Show in the South East that offers products, advice and inspiration on how to improve or renovate a home as well as how to make it environmentally friendly. The Show also offers the opportunity to consider the alternative route of saving money by building your own home as well as how to make the most of the latest smart home technology.
Taking place from 19 to 21 September at London’s ExCeL, The London Homebuilding & Renovating Show boasts around 200 exhibitors showcasing the latest products, technical innovations and services.
New features for 2008 include Ask the Architects where, whatever your design or planning questions, ASBA architects will be on hand to discuss them; and The Information Zone where you can pick up useful tips from industry associations and find the right questions to ask before you check out the products and services available from the companies you are interested in.
The Show also offers an unparalleled series of 72 free seminars and exhibitor-led masterclasses. The seminars take a broad overview on a range of topics from ‘How to Build Your Way up the Property ladder’ to ‘How the Intelligent Home can Transform Your Life’ whilst the masterclasses will be more focused on specifics such as ecological restoration and renovation, rainwater harvesting and home automation controls.
Always a favourite, Michael Holmes will be hosting Ask The Experts sessions giving visitors exclusive access to experts in the field saving consultancy fees of up to £100 a hour!
