Miller racks up 11th web win
Miller Homes has claimed yet another award for online innovation by scooping the top prize in the Scottish Herald Property Award's ‘Best Developer Website' category. The prize is Miller's eleventh trophy for online activity alone and the housebuilder's 38th major award since 2001.The category, sponsored by property listing website S1Homes judged the shortlisted entries on the structure and operation of the site with consideration given to navigation, content, functionality, design and search engine optimisation. Miller took the title for its customer focused website - www.millerhomes.co.uk - which receives around 95,000 unique visitors a month.
Chief executive of Miller Homes, Tim Hough, said: "At Miller we have been utilising online technology for many years to help improve and increase our service to customers. We are very proud of the web based initiatives we have pioneered and to have received another trophy for our developments in this area is very pleasing. Whilst we are faced with such a challenging market at present, good news stories like these are very welcome indeed."
Miller Homes prides itself on creating a web journey to support customers all the way from searching for a home to when they move in and way beyond. When customers reserve, they are given access to a dedicated, secure website at www.mymillerhome.com. Here they can follow the progress of their new home through an animated construction timeline and they can receive updates via e-mail and SMS as key stages of the building and buying legalities are completed.
Then when Miller customers move into their new home, they are given access to ww.mymillerstreet.co.uk. Launched in 2007, this website provides a means for Miller homeowners to introduce themselves to their neighbours and connect with their new community. These ‘add-on' websites were said to be a big contributor to Miller Homes' win.
The award was presented at a gala dinner at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Glasgow. For more information visit Millerhomes.co.uk.
