Persimmon makes ongoing commitment to house hunters

Jason Stokes sales director for Weybridge based Persimmon Homes South East explains the company's ongoing support of those interested in property purchase. He states: "At Persimmon we believe in creating opportunities for everyone, whether they're first time buyers, downsizers, those wanting to move up the ladder or investors looking for a buy to let.
"With 2009 set to become an even more difficult time financially for many individuals and industries including the housing market, we are committed to assuring people who don't think they'll achieve property ownership that buying a new home can be accomplished with us."
For first time buyers, key workers and those struggling to obtain a mortgage, Persimmon is promoting its highly acclaimed 85 per cent or 75 per cent Shared Equity scheme on its houses and apartments respectively.
Under the initiative purchasers have the benefit of owning 100 per cent of their property, but only require a mortgage for up to 85 per cent of their home. They then have up to ten years interest free to pay back the remaining percentage.
Jason adds: "While new homes in many places across the UK still represent good value for money, as an industry we have to accept that many purchasers are finding it difficult to get a foot on the property ladder in the current climate.
"Shared Equity makes a real difference to such buyers as it allows them to take out a mortgage which they feel comfortable with to pay for the initial percentage and hold off paying for the remaining amount for a few years until they feel more financially secure."
For those with homes to sell, Persimmon's Part Exchange initiative is designed to assist homeowners who are struggling in the current market conditions to sell their existing property. The scheme guarantees a buyer for their house, meaning househunters are safe in the knowledge that they can look for their dream home immediately rather than having to wait until a buyer is found.
Jason comments: "We buy the second hand property and the whole process, including the sale, is managed and monitored by us. This eliminates a large proportion of the stress and hassle associated with moving home, leaving customer's with time to get on with life. There are also financial benefits for the customer with savings on estate agents fees and advertising."
Jason concludes: "Contrary to popular believe, now really is the time to purchase a brand new home as it's a buyer’s market. With our competitively priced properties across the South East region coupled with our fantastic range of deals, we hope to encourage consumer confidence by demonstrating our commitment to those looking to move house in 2009."
