Miller Homes champ Bill Hughes wins another accolade Starting the year in glamorous style, housebuilding stars gathered at a gala ceremony in London for the house builders’ ‘Oscars’, the National House Building Council’s (NHBC) Pride in the Job UK Supreme Gala Dinner.

Hosted by TV presenter Melissa Porter, this award ceremony highlighted the very best in housebuilding. Whittling over 18,000 site managers down to 4 winners and 4 runners-up has taken the judges all year but the results were finally announced at the Royal Lancaster hotel event on the 9th January.

Bill Hughes of Miller Homes is celebrating his achievement of winning Runner Up to the Supreme Winner in the Large Builder Category. This is for the excellence of his work and the quality of the building at Scholars Way in St Helens.

But this is not the first time Bill has attended the ceremony. Because he remains the undisputed overall champ, having previously won the Supreme Winner award four times. This unmatched and unrivalled achievement in the Large Builder category is testament to his years of excellent standards for Miller Homes.

The Pride in the Job competition has the primary purpose of seeking out and rewarding the very best site managers in the UK. It is the most prestigious competition in the house-building industry and has become synonymous with quality new homes. It is therefore a recognised seal of approval for new homebuyers everywhere.

Miller Homes’ Construction Director Fred Swinburne said: “For the vast majority of site managers, winning a Runners Up award would be the highlight of their entire career. Of course, with Bill holding more Supreme Winners awards than anyone else, in the competitions 28 year history, this is put in another context for him. But we are so pleased that the excellence of his standards has once again been recognised.

“Bill is a shining example of the Miller Homes’ commitment to the highest quality in building.”

Bill commented: “I am really pleased to have won this award. I am very proud of the homes and of the team at Scholars Way.”

Modestly, Bill cites his team: “It is great that their exceptional work has been recognised.”
