Tailored Home to sponsor What House? Awards 2009
The build up has begun for this year’s ‘Oscars’ of the house building industry. The What House? Awards take place at The Grosvenor House hotel in London on November 20 and winning this year will be an even greater achievement following the severe economic downturn – demonstrating sustained quality of product, despite market conditions.Tailored Home is the new sponsor of three of this year’s categories – Best House, Best Small Housing Association and Best Large Housing Association. Peter Apps, sales and marketing director of Tailored Home explained why his company had chosen to sponsor the awards: “The What House? brand has served the new homes industry for over 100 years. At Tailored Home we are positioning ourselves firmly as the specialist new and affordable homes portal and we recognise the perfect synergy between the brands, particularly focusing on the categories chosen.”
Tailored Home, online property finders and property listings portal for new homes, affordable homes & overseas property, has seen a continuous rise in visitor numbers and house listings since the launch of the portal in March this year and Mr Apps said that the What House? Awards gives the company further exposure as it continues to develop within the market.”
The What House? Awards, in their 28th year, are the most prestigious and long established in the house building industry. They unveil exciting, dynamic new developers, delivering pioneering projects to their local markets, as well as highlighting the innovations of the industry’s major players who build across the country. Recognising the hugely important role the affordable homes sector has in kick-starting the market, the What House? team is releasing four new Housing Association categories this year to house builders and developers, large and small, across 23 categories. Last year’s House builder of the Year title was won by small Cornish house builder Rosemullion Homes, while the best volume house builder was Berkeley Homes.
New sponsors Tailored Home are aware of just how important the 2009 awards are, a view echoed by What House? Director Rupert Bates who explains: “2008-9 has been the most challenging year in the house building industry’s history. The recession may have crippled the rate of building, but with huge pent up demand to release, it is vital that new standards for build quality, design, customer care and environmental responsibility are set.”
