Kelly is in pole position with Taylor Wimpey

The 32-year-old from Kimberley, Nottinghamshire, has worked for Taylor Wimpey for six years, most recently as a Field Sales Manager looking after a sales team at numerous developments across the East Midlands.
She will now oversee the sales and marketing strategies and performance for the whole region, which includes twelve George Wimpey developments and eleven Bryant Homes developments in Lincolnshire, Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Northamptonshire.
Says Kelly, who has NVQ level 2 and 3 qualifications in Customer Service and has won Hallmark awards for Customer Service while working at George Wimpey developments: “I'm delighted to become the new Sales and Marketing Director for the region. I absolutely love the building industry and I am passionate about working with people.
“The house building industry is facing challenging times, but I have the enthusiasm, motivation and determination to continue the regions success. There is a great team in the East Midlands and my role is to enable everyone to be the very best they can be, to help develop their skills and most importantly offer our clients the best possible service.
“A lot of people who work in the industry have very good ideas and working as part of team we can use these to push the region forward. The East Midlands has been one of the top regions in the company and I will build on this success and to continue to aim high.”
Having started her working life as a customer service manager for EMICS Engineering in Radford, then becoming a travel agent in West Bridgford, Kelly decided to move into new home sales and was trained at a site in Sherwood, by one of her current Sales Executives Corrine Turner. After six months she moved to a development at West Bridgford, then on to Bestwood in Nottinghamshire and finally Farnsfield near Newark, spending four years as a successful Sales Executive.
In 2007, former East Midlands Sales and Marketing Director Lynne Hartshorn asked Kelly to be a Sales Manager and she has fulfilled that role for two years until Lynne retired.
Adds Kelly, who attended Chamber of Commerce Training College, Clarendon College and High Pavement Sixth Form: “The region continues to do well.
“We have achieved this by bringing in a number of new initiatives, such as our Meet the Builder events in Nottinghamshire, which go hand-in-hand with our encouragement of customers to purchase their new home off-plan.
“Those struggling to get their heads around the concept of purchasing a property that hasn’t yet been built come along and talk to our Site Manager and team to find out everything they want to know about the build quality, the materials, the elevations and the overall look of the development when completed.
“It’s a great way of reassuring people and helping them to understand the benefits of buying off plan, plus we can offer a great deal”
“We have also made the Sales Executive Award a monthly rather than annual title. Sales Executives are working very hard to secure sales in the current market, and by having the awards monthly, we can better reward the effort that they are putting in.”
