Street site manager wins coveted national award Street site manager for Crest Nicholson, John Gray has been awarded the NHBC Pride in the Job Quality Award – one of the most prestigious accolades in the house-building industry which recognises commitment and excellence in the sector.

John, who is currently site manager at the ICON development in Street is overseeing the build of over 130 properties on phase one of the site and was hand-picked to receive this award from more than 18,000 contenders across the UK. To win, they were assessed across 38 aspects of site management, including technical knowledge, consistency in the build process as well as leadership and organisational skills. This is the second accolade John has received this year after receiving the Crest Nicholson Site Manager of the Year bronze award in July.

Now in its 29th year, NHBC's ‘Pride in the Job’ is the only national competition to focus on the contribution the site manager makes in producing high quality new homes. Altogether 400 Quality Award winners were selected as first round winners, John now goes through to the next heat to try for a ‘Seal of Excellence’ Award in the Autumn where there will be only 130 lucky winners. The ‘Pride in the Job’ campaign reaches its climax with the announcement of the four overall UK Supreme Award winners at a Gala Awards ceremony in January 2010.

John said: “This year has been very successful for me as I have not only received this award but also was awarded bronze in the national Crest Nicholson Site Manager of the Year competition.

“I think it is testament to working with such a great site and sales team to provide top-quality sustainable homes for people who want to live in Street. Working on the ICON development has presented me with enjoyable challenges as we have been using sustainable methods and features to provide homebuyers with eco-friendly homes that will last the test of time.”

David Huggett, Managing Director of Crest Nicholson (South West) Ltd. commented on the award win: “We are thrilled that John has won the Quality Award; it demonstrates the commitment he and the team he works with have to delivering extremely high standards, both on site and in the homes we build.

“Three Crest Nicholson South West site managers have received the Quality Award this year. We are very proud of their achievements and wish them the best of luck in the next stages.”

The first phase of the ICON development consists of 138 one and two bedroom apartments and two, three and four-bedroom homes, with prices now starting from £105,950 for a one bedroom apartment to £199,950 for a three bedroom home.
