A picture perfect home

A picture perfect home Pauline Sellers put her ‘Dot–ART’ into decorating her new home at Cressington Heath in South Liverpool - and had a little bit of help along the way from Redrow.

Following a unique exhibition which saw the award-winning housebuilder team up with Liverpool-based art organisation Dot-Art, receptionist Pauline received a bumper £250 gift voucher from Redrow to spend at the gallery – and used it to buy an exquisite piece to complement her new dream dwelling.

The six month-long exhibition involved the transformation of a show home at the Redrow site situated off Garston Way, Garston, from a ‘blank canvas’ into a fully-fledged art gallery with a twist. Also, every house hunter who snapped up a property during the event received a £250 gift voucher to spend at Dot-Art.

Pauline, recently moved from Wirral but originally from Toxteth, says: “I was so delighted with Redrow’s kind gift. It was quickly put to good use and the purchased piece, painted by local artist Joe Thompson, depicts a sunset and is hanging proudly in my downstairs living area and completes an already lovely living space.”

Dot-art is a Liverpool based art gallery and consultancy, specialising in original and limited edition art by local artists. It helps Merseyside based artists to promote and sell their work, through its Castle Street gallery, website and a variety of other schemes such as offering original art to corporate clients for rent

Irene Gifford, area sales manager for Redrow Homes (Lancashire), says: “Linking up with Dot-Art was a great way to support local artists. Giving Dot-Art vouchers to everyone who bought during the exhibition created new custom for the gallery and its artists and was a novel way of thanking buyers like Pauline who have chosen to call Cressington Heath their home.”

Pauline had been living in Pensby, in Wirral, for 16 years until her youngest daughter, Katie, 18, persuaded her it was time to move back to her hometown. It was when house hunting that she came across Cressington Heath and was initially sold on the location and innovative external design of the properties.

Pauline continues: “ I enjoy being close to the hustle and bustle of the city and the location of Cressington Heath means that within minutes, if I travel via train, I can be right in the city centre which is ideal. Also, there are plenty of other local amenities including the nearby Speke retail park and other local shops.”

Pauline and Katie, live in a four-bedroom, three-storey ‘Neale’ style property at Cressington Heath. It features an open-plan kitchen and living area, separate dinning room and an en-suite bathroom to the master bedroom.

Cressington Heath will eventually comprise 314 new homes on a 35-acre site. Once complete, it will offer everything from two-bedroom apartments, through town houses and semi-detached properties to large and luxurious detached homes.

Buses to the city centre and regular train services run close to the development, while the nearby M62 and M6 motorways enable easy access to destinations around the North West. For those with further flung destinations in mind, Liverpool John Lennon Airport is easily reached.

And for families on the lookout for a new home, Garston has six primary schools, and there are also two high schools in Speke and Garston.
