Best of both worlds

Cooper Court, located three miles way from Stockport, is a new venture by Cheshire-based Redrow Homes (North West), attracting buyers who want to be able to combine their professional city lives with a little bit of peace and relaxation at home.
The appeal isn’t difficult to see – Manchester city centre is less than half an hour away by rail or car, making it the perfect choice for commuters and those who love being close to the buzz of the city, without living right in the middle of the action. And of course Stockport with all its amenities is almost on the doorstep.
But while Cooper Court offers easy access to urban life, the semi-rural location of charming Hazel Grove village is another draw, with the local reservoir right behind the development offering the perfect opportunity for a summer stroll.
Barbara Wright, area sales manager for Redrow Homes (North West), says:
“Although city centre living is still a popular choice, we’re seeing more and more professionals who want all the style and sophistication of apartment living, but would prefer a more tranquil way of life away from the hustle and bustle.
“By choosing Cooper Court, buyers don’t have to decide between access to the city or a relaxing way of life, they can have both - and as we have a variety of property type and size available, there is something to suit most tastes.”
Currently available are both two-bedroom apartments and mews-style properties, priced from £156,000 and £169,950 respectively, as well three-bedroom semi-detached homes, starting from £229,950.
The Avon apartment is well suited to busy professionals who want the convenience of a new build and don’t want to worry about renovations and too much maintenance. Although designs differ, the property typically offers an open-plan living/dining/ kitchen area, along with two bedrooms – one with en-suite shower room – and the main bathroom. The Avon starts at £156,000, and a single parking place is included in the price.
Barbara adds: “Having two bathrooms means that the Avon is extremely suitable for two friends buying together to get on the property ladder, as well as couples or single people. The fact that parking is included in the price is also a big bonus, as in the city centre parking is both scarce and expensive.”
Cooper Court will eventually feature 98 two and three-bedroom mews and town houses and two-bedroom apartments from Redrow’s property portfolio. The first buyers are now moving in, and a vibrant community is set to emerge as more of the homes are snapped up.
Future releases will include apartments with Juliet balconies overlooking the reservoir.
Travel connections from Hazel Grove are excellent with easy access to the A6, which links to the M1 and M6 motorways, leading to London, Newcastle, Sheffield, and Manchester and beyond. There is also a local railway station which will take people straight into Manchester Piccadilly in 30 minutes.
