Redrow arrives in Farndon
Redrow’s latest venture in the North West is an £8.5 million development in the beautiful Cheshire village of Farndon. The award winning house builder is developing a 3.7 acre site off Townfield Lane, which will eventually include a nature conservation area and children’s play area. The development, which will be known as Lawes Chase, will be surrounded by rolling countryside, yet will offer easy access to nearby Chester and Wrexham.
Situated on the English/Welsh border the scheme will eventually accommodate 45 homes, providing something for people on all stages of the property ladder with a mix of apartments, detached, semi-detached and mews housing.
Work is underway on the development and the first residents are expected to move in by Spring 2008.
Redrow’s development director in the North West, John Grime, said: "We are delighted to have been able to acquire such a desirable site, which allows us to add to our growing portfolio of well-established Redrow developments.
"There something to suit all tastes at Lawes Chase which offers a countryside setting just five miles from Wrexham and Chester.
"Redrow is keen to enhance the development’s surroundings and will be creating a nature conservation area on adjoining land, which will be managed in accordance with a management plan agreed by Chester City Council."
The development at Farndon, which will include affordable housing, is a perfect addition to Redrow’s growing portfolio in the North West, which now includes homes in Wrexham and Ewloe in North Wales, Altrincham, Crewe, Hazel Grove in Stockport, Chadderton in Oldham, Ditton near Widnes and Port Sunlight and Spital, on the Wirral.
The schemes are being developed by Redrow Homes (North West), which has an office in Preston Brook and is a subsidiary of Redrow plc, which builds circa 5,000 homes across the UK each year.
