First time buyer bags a bargain at Carrington Park in Warrington

First time buyer bags a bargain at Carrington Park in Warrington First time buyer Alex Rogerson took the daring plunge and searched for his first home in Warrington at a time when most would shy away from the property market.

In doing so he found that with Countryside Properties' popular First Time Buyer Initiative (FTBI) at Carrington Park, those first steps onto the property ladder were an affordable breeze.

Having previously lived with his parents in Hollins Green on the eastern edge of Warrington, Alex (21), a mobile phone specialist, decided it was time to fly the nest. Searching for his dream ‘first pad', Alex was keen to keep his options open and shopped around to make sure he got the right deal - then he found Countryside Properties' Carrington Park in Warrington and the search was over.

Alex commented: "Above anything else, the best thing about my one bedroom apartment at Carrington Park is that I was able to buy it through the FTBI. It's much better than any other schemes that developers offer; I had to keep asking if I'd understood it right, it seemed too good to be true and people warn you that being a first time buyer these days is challenging but Countryside Properties' made it very easy."

English Partnerships' First Time Buyer Initiative (FTBI) sees Countryside Properties collaborate with the national regeneration agency to give people a helping hand onto the property ladder who would otherwise not be able to afford to buy a new home.

The initiative enables first time buyers to contribute a minimum of 50% towards the full purchase price of a new home through an affordable mortgage, with English Partnerships contributing the rest by way of direct payment to the developer.

Alex added: "I did look around at other properties in Warrington but when I saw Carrington Park I really liked what I saw. The layout of the development was the first thing that caught my eye, it's a gated community which makes you feel instantly at home. I feel really safe and secure being part of a neighbourhood where I feel we can all look out for each other."

Countryside Properties' regional sales director, Martin Leggett, commented: "We're very conscious of how this country's younger generations are finding it difficult to step onto the first rung of the property ladder, particularly in the current financial climate. With schemes like the FTBI we are providing options to make it easier for first time buyers to purchase their first home, taking the stress and financial pinch out of home buying. At Countryside Properties we're proud to offer superior homes with an affordable price tag, with no compromise on quality."

Carrington Park is located just a quarter of a mile from Warrington town Centre. With a well-connected rail network nearby and close proximity to both the M6 and M62, it is close to Manchester and Liverpool, but with a network of woodlands, parklands and natural habitats nearby, it also acts as a haven away from the hustle and bustle.

Alex added: "My apartment is so close to everything I need, I can just walk into town if I need to and I don't need to worry about a heavy taxi fare to get me home at the end of a night out. I'm so happy here."

Carrington Park offers a range of spacious and contemporary one and two bedroom apartments, a selection of which are available on the innovative First Time Buyer Initiative. Prices for a one bedroom apartment at Carrington Park start at just £99,950 with a minimum contribution of £49,975 under the First Time Buyer Initiative.

Not all buyers will qualify to receive the 50% maximum assistance. The HomeBuy Agent, Plumlife will assess eligibility and affordability for each applicant.
