A lifeline for home buyers in Warrington

First time buyers in the Warrington are being given a further boost with Miller Homes releasing new homes at its Urban Space development in the Government backed Homebuy Direct scheme.

The initiative is already proving a big success with Miller Homes’ buyers. Over 208 Miller properties have been reserved since its introduction in March, making the award winning house builder one of the largest users of the initiative. This extension of the Homebuy Direct scheme to a further four Miller Homes’ developments in the northwest takes its total number offering HBD in the region to twelve.

HBD initiative aims to help households with an income of less that £60,000 a year, first time buyers, key workers, families living in overcrowded accommodation and people re-entering the property market after a relationship breakdown. It achieves this by enabling these people to take an equity loan of up to 30 per cent of the purchase price. This will be co-funded by Miller Homes and the Government.

The equity loan is in effect a deposit of up to 30%, which opens access to some of the best mortgage deals available. One further bonus of the scheme is that the equity loan is only repayable after 25 years, and there is no interest payable for the first five years.

Peter Vella, Miller Homes’ Sales Director believes there will be strong demand for of the scheme: “With house prices on the rise over the last three months, the Homebuy Direct scheme could not come soon enough for home buyers in Warrington. With limited numbers of properties available we are asking interested parties to register their interest at the development as soon as possible to see if they qualify.”

Using HBD a new 2 bed home at Miller Homes Urban Space development in Warrington is offered for £59,500 now. The price without HBD would be £85,000.
