Frequent flyer lands dream home at The Deck

The couple, who live in the Caribbean, found it all at Bryant Homes’ development The Deck in Runcorn, where they snapped up a stylish and contemporary two bedroom apartment overlooking the Manchester Ship Canal and Mersey Estuary.
Sally explained, “We have lived in the Turks and Caicos Islands for nearly 20 years, having moved there because of Peter’s work as commercial director for the biggest building contractor in the Caribbean. When our children, Raymond and Zoe, married and had children of their own, we decided to look for a UK base so we could see our grandchildren regularly.
“My mother’s side of the family were born in Lancashire and my cousins live just across the water in Widnes. I was struck by the innovative architectural design of The Deck and loved the fact that we could have a home on the water, like we do in the Caribbean. The excellent service we received from the sales team, combined with the fantastic views and security of the development, clinched the deal for us.”
Sally, who is an artist and interior design consultant, also owns an upmarket villa vacation rental company on the Islands and now spends a few weeks at The Deck every few months, flying into Manchester Airport which is just 30 minutes away from the development.
She added: “After almost 24 hours travelling, I really wanted a short drive to our UK home, which is why The Deck is in such a perfect location. I simply pick up the hire car at the airport and am in the apartment having a nice cup of tea in just over half an hour - it’s so quick and easy. Raymond and Zoe both live within easy reach of the development too – in Middlewich and Leyland – so I can pop and see them every day. We love our life in the sun and can’t see ourselves living in England again permanently which is why our apartment at The Deck is ideal. We now have the best of both worlds.”
Sam Williams, regional sales manager for Bryant Homes, said: ”We are really pleased that Sally and Peter have found their ideal home at The Deck. The development offers exactly what Sally said – great homes in an excellent location boasting some of the best views around.
“Our stylish apartments are ideal for house hunters like Sally and Peter who spend time abroad as they offer peace of mind, enabling purchasers to simply lock up and leave. Buying a new home is also a shrewd move because there is no upward chain, no need to worry about being gazumped and the lower maintenance and running costs enables purchasers to enjoy substantial financial savings. If you’d like to start a new life at The Deck why not come and see us? We’ve recently cut prices on four apartment types on our latest phase, enabling you to get a bargain price on your dream home.”
The Deck totals an impressive 466 one and two bedroom apartments, with communal recreational areas and a range of retail facilities on the doorstep. Located on some of Runcorn’s former ship repair yards, it will open up public access to the old quay of the Manchester Ship Canal, spearheading the regeneration of a neglected brownfield area into a vibrant new community.
