Barratt’s economics add up for investor

When he was a 20 year old economics student at Leicester University, Ajay Bhalla found his own way to make the figures add up. He bought a buy-to-let apartment at Barratt’s Anstey Grange development on Blackbird Road – and from then on, one success led to another.

Now at the age of 25, Ajay has nine Barratt properties in his portfolio and he’s looking for still more.

Ajay is not a full time investor and has a job working for a leading medical company – but he learned from his experience as a student – that making money from buy-to-let need not take up all your time.

Ajay said: “I now have Barratt properties in Hinckley, Leicester and Thorpe Astley.

“I will always prefer to buy Barratt. The quality of their new homes is fantastic and they are always ready to help investors like me. Tenants trust Barratt’s good name and that helps to keep the properties fully occupied.

“Buying that first Barratt apartment was the best move I ever made. I was only a student at the time – but Barratt made buying easy. I have always been very impressed with their customer service and the superb deals they are able to offer investors.

“My Barratt portfolio will continue to grow – and considering it is not a full time job – it is a great way to make extra money.”

Barratt’s East Midlands sales director, Steven Jackson said: “As a smart economics student, Ajay certainly knew how to make the figures work for him. It set him on the road to being a successful investor and he still has plenty of time for a demanding job.

“Barratt properties are ideal investments. We can offer a selection of packages to help first time investors to enter the market and there are plenty of great deals too for established investors like Ajay. We have a wide selection of properties on developments across Leicestershire and they will always be highly attractive to tenants.”
