Live the high life at Gibsons Mews

2nd December 2008 Print
If you’re looking for a new family home that offers space and flexibility then it’s well worth paying a visit to Gibsons Mews, Jelson Homes’ development in Oakham. Here, a new show home is now open, marking the launch of a collection of 4 bedroom townhouses.

While historically townhouses were pied-à-terres for the aristocracy, today they make great homes for a variety of family types. From more conventional family arrangements through multigenerational households to families with adult children still living at home they can provide the space, versatility and privacy that a two storey property can lack.

Built to the ‘Hadleigh’ design and with prices from £199,950, the townhouses at Gibsons Mews offer a lot of house for your money. On the ground floor, accommodation comprises a cloakroom/WC, a utility and a space that could serve as a fourth bedroom or a study. This level could be used as a self-contained suite, giving an older child or elderly relative their own privacy, or as office space for those who work from home.

Meanwhile, the first and second storeys offer all that you would expect of a family home. On the first floor the kitchen/dining room and lounge are of a generous size, and both rooms are flooded with natural light by French doors that give access to Juliette balconies. The sleeping accommodation is on the second floor with the master bedroom enjoying en-suite facilities while the 2 remaining bedrooms are served by the family bathroom. In addition to driveway parking, the property also features an integral garage.

But if the ‘Hadleigh’ doesn’t suit then there are also a 3 bedroom mews house, ideal for downsizers or first time buyers, or even a 2 bedroom bungalow. Whichever home you choose, it will benefit from Jelson’s traditional building techniques and high standard of finish. Features include solid internal walls, Jelson-made PVCu windows, bespoke kitchens and fitted carpets throughout.

And then there’s the location. Offering the best of town and country, Gibsons Mews is well placed to take advantage of all that the area has to offer. Oakham has a wide range of shops, banks, bars and eateries and the charming Regency town of Stamford - some 12 miles distant* - offers a unique shopping experience. If this isn’t enough to entice you, the town is surrounded by countryside, including the breathtaking Rutland Water – perfect for enjoying the great outdoors.

Despite its rural charm, Oakham has good communications links with the business centres of Peterborough, Nottingham and Leicester all within easy reach, while there is an excellent selection of schools in the vicinity, both state and independent.

Prices start at £139,950 for a 3 bedroom home, the 2 bedroom bungalow is on sale for £149,950, and the 4 bedroom houses with garage start at £199,950.
