Spring into home ownership this Easter
With the Bank Holiday upon us, Easter is the perfect opportunity for first-time buyers to spring into home ownership at Barratt North Midlands’ HomeBuy Direct Weekend across its Leicestershire developments.Held across Saturday and Sunday 11th and 12th April, the event is a chance for homehunters who are looking to make a new start to buy their own slice of stylish modern life for 70 per cent of the price with the brand new joint Barratt/Government initiative.
Designed to give potential HomeBuy Direct applicants a chance to learn more about the scheme, the open weekend will feature Barratt sales negotiators who will be on-hand to explain everything buyers need to know, walk them through the steps to apply and answer any queries they may have.
The joint Government/Barratt equity scheme has seen houses and apartments released in Leicestershire at Regents Park development in Leicester and Stephensons Place in Coalville.
Having homes available under the initiative at these developments will help people purchase their first property, or upgrade to a larger home to make room for an expanding family. Homebuyers taking advantage of it will receive an equity loan for 30 per cent of the value of their new home, funded jointly by Barratt and the Government. The buyer finances the last 70 per cent either with a mortgage, a deposit, or combination of the two.
HomeBuy Direct is designed to suit a wide range of people under a variety of circumstances. Those eligible include first-time buyers, anyone wanting to move from social rented accommodation to purchase a home, key workers i.e. NHS, those in private rented accommodation, or anyone running out of room at home who need a further bedroom for an expanding family – but the combined annual household income must be under £60,000.
James Poynor, Sales Director for Barratt North Midlands, said, “Since the launch of this scheme at the beginning of March we’ve been inundated with queries from interested parties wanting to know if they are eligible which is why we’ve decided to hold this special event so prospective purchasers and key workers can come along and find out more.
“An independent financial advisor will be on hand to give the low down on the advantages of the scheme and how it could help you subsidise a move you may have temporarily been putting off. They will then answer any questions you may have.”
