School kids record modern life in Kibworth Year Four pupils from Kibworth Church of England Primary School were recently treated to a look around David Wilson East Midlands’ Kibworth Meadows development in Kibworth prior to burying a time capsule there.

53 school children were accompanied by teachers and helpers down to the development on Wistow Road where they were met by Assistant Site Manager Phil Symonds who was on hand to answer any questions the children had about the development.

The aim of the visit was to allow the children to record what the development looks like today through drawings and sketches, which could then be placed in a time capsule at the development so future generations can see how the area has changed over the years.

The children came up with some good ideas of other items of contemporary life to bury in the time capsule, nine year old Chloe Taylor suggested photographs of special events whilst eight year old Lizzie Stocks suggested pictures of popular items such as a Nintendo DS and a Wii. Jerry Clarke, also aged eight, proposed including favourite toys.

Sharon Evans, Year Four teacher comments “The children love getting out and about and learning more about their local community and they’ve been looking forward to this visit for some time.

“It’s a very exciting project for us and I know we’re all looking forward to choosing objects to place in the time capsule and having the opportunity to record life today for generations of the future.”

Philip Lacey, Sales Director at David Wilson comments “As a company we’re committed to getting involved with local communities and as Kibworth Meadows is our flagship development, we thought a time capsule burial with the local school would be the ideal way of paying homage to such a significant new homes development.”

The time capsule is due to be buried by the school in one of the open spaces at the development sometime during the summer term.

Situated on Wistow Road, Kibworth Meadows offers an extensive selection of one-, two-, three-, four- and five- bedroom homes in a pleasing location on the edge of Kibworth Harcourt.

Prices for properties at the development start from £99,995.
