Six bedroom homes for how much? Leicestershire families will be surprised to hear they could find themselves moving into a six bedroom property for just £150,150 if they buy at Barratt North Midlands’ Regents Park development in Hamilton.

Homehunters can achieve this incredible price if they purchase the Oxford house type on the Government’s recently launched HomeBuy Direct scheme.

HomeBuy Direct is a new deal that allows eligible homehunters to purchase a property for initially just 70 per cent. The remaining 30 per cent is funded by a joint Government and Barratt deferred loan. The Government introduced this scheme earlier this year in a bid to combat affordability issues within the housing market and aims to help more first time buyers, key workers and families living in rented accommodation get a foot on the property ladder.

“HomeBuy Direct is a great initiative which is proving a lifeline to those needing a little more financial support towards buying a new home” comments James Poynor, sales Director at Barratt North Midlands

“We have allocated 21 plots to this scheme at Regents Park including the superb six- bedroom Oxford style which is ideal for expanding families with four or more children.”

The Oxford is a beautifully presented six- bedroom semi- detached home. Offering spacious accommodation and a thoughtfully planned layout, this style is perfect for families seeking a dynamic home capable of meeting the demands of a modern lifestyle.

The ground floor comprises a large lounge with bay window to the front of the property, a separate dining room ideal for more formal dining occasions with French doors that lead onto a landscaped garden, a stylish kitchen with contemporary fitted units and a useful cloakroom and storage space under the stairs. The first floor comprises four well-proportioned bedrooms and the family bathroom whilst the second floor completes this superb design with two further bedrooms and a second bathroom.

James adds “Offering accommodation spread generously over three floors, the Oxford is an incredibly flexible style makes an ideal family home. We currently have just one Oxford style property available at Regents Park, so families had better be quick if they don’t want to miss out on the opportunity to buy at this unmissable price.”

The Oxford is priced at £214,995, £150,150 on HomeBuy Direct.

The scheme is open to first time buyers, key workers and others who are currently renting. People who have previously owned a home but are now unable to do so – perhaps where relationships have broken down – can also apply.

Households eligible will be earning less than £60,000 and would not normally be able to afford to buy a suitable property on the open market.

There is no interest to pay on the equity stake for the first five years, although a small fee will be charged from year six onwards.

Buyers can redeem the loan in instalments, purchasing up to 100 per cent of the equity after their initial purchase by buying additional equity at the market rate. Alternatively, if they sell their home, the equity loan is repaid by way of a proportionate share of the sale proceeds.

Situated on Sandhills Avenue in Hamilton, Regents Park comprises a superb collection of in an emerging community on the outskirts of Leicester.

Hamilton itself benefits from a range of amenities including schools, shops and a large Tesco store whilst Leicester and all its leisure and recreational facilities is easily accessible via both car and public transport.

Prices at Regents Park start from £202,995 for a four- bedroom home in the style of an Alderney.
