Millfield staff show homebuyers how it’s done

Karen Townsend and Janet Smith Two members of staff from housebuilding firm Barratt Mercia have been so impressed with the development on which they work, that each have purchased a property there.

Sales Negotiators Karen Townsend and Janet Smith saw an opportunity at the development called Millfield Wharf, for two very different reasons and both have now bought homes there.

Millfield Wharf in Fazeley is a unique waterside development located on Coleshill Road close to Tamworth town centre and Fazeley Marina. It boasts 57 two-bedroom apartments, which have been designed to appeal to first-time buyers, young professionals, downsizers and in some cases, staff members!

For Sales Negotiator Karen Townsend, who has worked within the housebuilding industry for over 20 years, this is the first time she has been tempted to become her own customer.

Karen said, “For as long as I have worked in the housing industry I have never considered living at what is essentially my place of work, but there is something really special about Millfield Wharf that makes it the perfect place to be.

“The development and the design of the buildings have a distinctive quality like nowhere else I have worked before. Bourne and Mill Brooks flow down either side of the development, which makes for a secluded living environment and a really peaceful atmosphere. I have bought one of the Glascote apartments and can’t wait to move in!”

Fellow Sales Negotiator, Janet Smith has also purchased one of the new apartments with the intention of buying to let. As waterside property rarely loses its value Janet felt that it was the ideal investment. She said, “After working on the site I have seen how popular the development is, so it seemed like an ideal place to buy a property to rent out. Plus it’s been a great way for me to better my skills knowing exactly what it’s like from the purchasers’ point of view.”

Chris Ashmore, Sales Director for Barratt Mercia added, “Janet and Karen represent the real mix of customers who have bought at Millfield Wharf, all of whom have seen the potential this new development has.”

“This scheme has proved immensely popular and is already an attractive addition to the area. The communal parts in particular are beautifully landscaped to make the most of the waterside location and a ready for residents to enjoy!

Prices for the apartments at Millfield Wharf begin at £169,995. For more information log on to Barrathomes.co.uk/millfieldwharf.
