A road less travelled

Matthew with Anita Pearson from Redrow The daily commute to the workplace is often a tedious necessity for many of us, but Matthew Wilcox couldn’t believe his luck when he found a property a stone’s throw away from his office. Matthew, aged 28, who is originally from London, was delighted to find that his new home at Redrow’s Water’s Edge development in Hanley, ticked all the boxes when looking for his new home with girlfriend Aimme Dean.

He says: “One of the main reasons I chose to live at Water’s Edge was the close proximity of the development to my office. It proves very convenient to live so near to work and saves the hassle of long, daily commutes and starting your day on a bad note stuck in traffic jams.”

However Matthew, a director for local youth organisation, UNITY, which is committed to providing opportunities and learning for disadvantaged youths within Stoke on Trent, had more than one reason for setting up home at Waters Edge. He explains: “As well as being close to work, the development is set within Hanley, a town currently witnessing a lot of redevelopment and I believe the property will prove to be a good investment.”

“Also, I was drawn to the fact that it was a new development. Although many people choose to live in an older property personally, I prefer brand new homes as I find them more convenient. I also liked the fact that I was able to pick my own specification and avoid any major decorating before moving in.”

Lynne Gardner, sales manager for Redrow (West Midlands) says “Redrow recognises how important the location factor is for house hunters and Water’s Edge definitely meets this criteria with being located so close to Hanley. This is a development perfect for both families and individuals alike.”

Matthew lives in a three-bedroom, three -storey Malham home complete with accompanying garage, en-suite bathroom, open plan kitchen/diner and downstairs cloakroom.

Water’s Edge features a series of stylish one and two- bedroom apartments, two-bedroom duplex apartments and three and four-bedroom homes. Other houses currently available include the two-bedroom, mid terrace Allen currently priced from £115,950, the three-bedroom, mid terrace Fairwood priced at £144, 950 and the four-bedroom Neale complete with integral single garage currently priced at £159,950.

The location of Water’s Edge has the best of both worlds as although the development offers spectacular views across the countryside, it still has plenty of local amenities close by.
