‘La bonne vie’ in Lichfield

‘La bonne vie’ in Lichfield For a glimpse of Parisian style, look no further than Lichfield, in Staffordshire, where a sumptuous new show home at the stylish City Wharf development will soon be wowing buyers.

Due for an September opening, the Teign home is decorated with a Parisian feel, with crystal chandeliers and curtain trim, chenille and velour fabrics and a rich burgundy, black, cream and dusky pink colour theme.

The Redrow Homes development will incorporate 132 homes when finished, in a contemporary design which will appeal to families, couples, friends sharing and commuters. There will also be more than 40,000 sq ft of office accommodation on site offering employment opportunities.

Julie Chapman, area sales manager for Redrow Homes (Midlands) says: “Lichfield is an exciting, cosmopolitan area and we wanted to represent that in this show home. We chose something elegant and emotive that would capture the imagination of our buyers and really appeal to them – hence the stylish Parisian theme. We’ve had a great start to sales here and a number of properties have been sold off plan – showing the appreciation our buyers have for a first class location teamed with quality build work.

“However, there’s no doubt that this new show home will provide an extra inspiration to home buyers.”

The living room creates an air of sophistication with large pieces of art work depicting scenes from France, including the Eiffel Tower. Visitors will be bowled over by the bistro themed open plan kitchen and dining area, which uses black, white, aubergine and mauve colours along with a chandelier and unusual corner sofa to set the mood for the rest of the home. The wow-factor is completed with bistro style tables, wine racks and a large Parisian-themed photo on one wall.

A combination of dark wood and leather furniture is used throughout the home, while the walls are lavished with large pieces of black and white photography, and a montage of small photographs hangs above the stairs. Mirrored furniture is also used to create a tailored and sophisticated feel.

The master bedroom creates a sumptuous Moulin Rouge feel, complete with a large bed, late 19th century mannequin with feather boas and a stylish en-suite, created to look like a French powder room. The second bedroom follows a similar theme but goes for a more upbeat, Parisian chic in the 1920s look. Created as a guest room, it oozes a sharp, upmarket feel.

A third bedroom goes all out on a ballerina theme – suitable for children and adults alike. With a full length mirror, ballet bar and images of ballet dancers it creates a fresh, happy atmosphere.

The fourth and final bedroom is kitted out as an artist’s studio – with an easel, desk and chair and art work.

A four-bedroom Teign property, similar to the show home, is currently available from £235,000. This spacious home makes use of a versatile third floor which in this case houses three bedrooms and a bathroom. The home also benefits from a downstairs cloakroom, fitted wardrobes and storage cupboards.

A selection of two-bedroom apartments are also among those currently on release at City Wharf. The Avon style homes are perfect for friends or a couple sharing thanks to the en-suite to master bedroom – meaning that bathroom bust ups are a thing of the past. The apartments also have an open plan dining and living area, kitchen and storage cupboard. Prices start from £154,950.

City Wharf is close to the centre of the cathedral city of Lichfield, which offers beautiful architecture teamed with modern amenities such as shops, restaurants, hotels and bars, as well as swimming pools and cinemas within easy reach.

The contemporary design and high quality of the development are matched by its first class location – with direct links to the M6, M42 and M54 via the A38. Walsall is around 20 minutes away while Cannock can be reached in 15 minutes.

As well as Birmingham city centre, Lichfield City train station provides services to Nottingham and London, via Birmingham.

To view the new Teign show home at City Wharf, visit the development, on Wharf Close, between 12pm and 5.30pm, Monday to Friday, and 10am – 5.30pm, Saturday and Sunday.
