Barratt’s hot tips for the New Year

With 2008 now underway, thousands of people will have made New Year resolutions, only to break them before the month is over. So this year why not break the mould and take some handy hints from award-winning housebuilder, Barratt Mercia and keep on track this year.

Tip One

Think about what it is that you want to change, write it down and keep it somewhere visible. This serves as both a reminder and encouragement for you to keep going and you are more likely to stick to your plan.

Tip Two

Only choose one resolution, any more and you will be setting yourself up to fail. Once you have your goal, break it down into manageable steps, these small and attainable goals will soon add up and before you know it you have reached your destination.

Tip Three

Make sure you are as specific as possible when planning your resolution, by setting definite targets you will be able to accurately measure your success and continue being motivated by the results.

Tip Four

A problem shared is a problem halved, so tell your friends and family all about your resolution. Not only will they be able to offer you valuable support, but the thought of your nearest and dearest seeing you fail will mean you are more likely to stick to the plan!
