A Burton touchdown for the Moloneys

A Burton touchdown for the Moloneys For former American footballer, Andy Moloney, wife Kerry and new baby Joseph, Miller Homes' Abbeyfields development in Burton on Trent offered the perfect setting for family life, but selling their home in today's climate could have meant time out with no extra play.

Andy, who played for the Birmingham Bulls American football team, was delighted that Miller Homes was able to offer its part exchange scheme on the purchase, meaning that they could let the housebuilder take care of selling their home, whilst also alleviating the extra cost of estate agent fees.

"We came to Abbeyfields just to have a look, and absolutely fell in love with it!" said Kerry Moloney; "It was just what we were looking for, but the problem was we hadn't sold our house. In fact, we weren't even on the market."

Under the ‘MHX' part exchange scheme, buyers have no need to suffer long chains or worry about putting their house on the open market, as Miller Homes does all of the hard work. House hunters still receive the estimated market value of their home, based on an average of two independent valuations.

Linda Androlia, sales director for Miller Homes, said; "Since launching the part exchange scheme, the amount of home owners we've been able to help buy their ideal home is fantastic.

"The Abbeyfields development in particular is great for first time buyers, young couples and small families wanting to make the step up to a family home."

The three bedroom ‘Staffs' layout first attracted the Moloney family because of its spacious feel and contemporary design features. With a large reception area and roomy kitchen, the elegant layout is complemented by modern touches, such as chrome door furniture and stainless steel kitchen appliances.

Andy Moloney said; "We literally grew up 300 yards from here, so when we realised what a great deal Miller had offered us, it made perfect sense to move on to the development.

"Miller handled the whole process for us and were helpful every step of the way. They even carpeted the whole house for us for free so that we could move straight in!"

The Abbeyfields development is situated just two miles from the A38, offering busy commuters fast access to Birmingham and Derby. With a wealth of local amenities including a health centre, cinema and a great selection of shops, the area makes for a convenient lifestyle setting.

Linda Androlia added: "As well as the part exchange scheme, we are also offering our new MiWay package on selected properties, which makes many homes even more affordable for househunters."

The new initiative gives buyers the chance to pay 75% now, 25% later on many homes at the Abbeyfields development, whilst still owning 100% of the property. This puts house buyers in a much stronger position when applying for finance.

Prices at Abbeyfields start at £109, 950 for the one bedroom Coach House layout, and go up to £199, 950 for the 3 bedroom Tutbury.
