Jane and Oscar are off to a flying start at Tamefield Rise

Jane and Oscar are off to a flying start at Tamefield Rise Housebuilder David Wilson Mercia has welcomed a rather unusual creature to its Tamefield Rise development after owner and first time buyer Jane Webster found her dream home located on Dumulos Way in Tamworth.

Jane, 33 and her African Grey parrot Oscar, moved to the development earlier this year, after renting for quite a few years locally in Tamworth. Jane explained,

"I had been looking at a few developments in the area but I found that a lot of the three storey homes I had seen looked more like apartments than actual homes, and it was the character and style of the three storey homes that sold Tamefield Rise to me, plus I was also able to take advantage of David Wilson's Easy Start scheme which helped me to finally get a foot on the property ladder.

"The location of the development is also perfect for me as it is close to the motorway for access to work and most of my friends still live in Birmingham where I am originally from, so it gives me the ability to see them regularly. Plus nearby is Ventura Park which provides me with all the high street shops and outlets I could wish for."

Jane bought a three-bedroom, three storey home comprising master bedroom with en-suite on the first floor, two double bedrooms on the second floor with a spacious living area, and situated on the ground floor, a large open plan kitchen/diner with downstairs cloakroom and storage space. The property also has a spacious back garden and two parking spaces.

Jane concluded, "There was someone else I had to consider in the move and that was my 18 month old parrot called Oscar. He is quite a messy creature so ideally I wanted a spare room for him so I could keep my living area nice and clean, this property provided just that. Being a first time buyer as well, Karen Townsend the sales negotiator made the whole process so easy and stress-free for me, it was an absolute pleasure dealing with David Wilson throughout the purchase.

"They not only helped me with the Easy Start scheme but also included free fitted carpets and all kitchen appliances, landscaped the gardens front and rear and gave me all the mortgage advice I needed to put my mind at rest."

Chris Ashmore, Sales Director for David Wilson commented, "Easy Start is a hugely successful scheme which allows homebuyers to purchase 100 per cent of the property for just 75 per cent of the price. It is due to this popularity that we have been able to introduce the scheme for a limited time at Tamefield Rise.

"Easy Start is specifically designed for first-time buyers and key workers who might otherwise find it a struggle to get a foot onto the property ladder. Easy Start is not a shared ownership scheme; there is no rent or interest to pay, the deferred amount is simply paid back as 25 per cent of the property's open market value up to the point of resale or within 10 years, whichever is sooner."

Tamefield Rise is ideally located close to the M42 and Tamworth town centre which offers a wide range of high-street stores, bars and restaurants. The development has fantastic links with the rest of the UK via Birmingham New Street train station just a 20 minute car or bus journey away.

Tamefield Rise offers a selection of three- and four-bedroom houses. Prices start at £197.950 for three-bedroom, three storey home. For more information log on to Dwh.co.uk/tamefieldrise.
