David Wilson goes zestful and edgy in Coventry

12th January 2009 Print
Throughout 2009, David Wilson Mercia will breathe new life into Coventry with Zest and The Edge - two exciting new housing developments which recently received the green light from planning officials.

Building at The Edge is scheduled to start during 2009 following planning approval for 166 new homes situated on Lythalls Lane on the outskirts of the city. David Wilson earmarked the site as ideal for development due to its good accessibility links to Coventry centre and nearby amenities.

Plans are for a variety of homes, comprising one- and two-bedroom apartments and three-, four- and six-bedroom houses - the first units and showhome are expected to be available for viewing in September 2009.

The second project is Zest, situated in Keresley. This will offer 136 new homes set in a fantastic semi-rural area for which planning permission has now been granted. It will feature one- and two-bedroom apartments and two-, three-, four- and five-bedroom houses, available for the first viewings in late 2009.

Chris Ashmore, Sales Director for David Wilson Mercia, said, "These are both really exciting developments for us in Coventry. What is more, The Edge and Zest will both cater for buyers of all sorts on budgets of all types, including families, young professionals and first-time buyers.

"The developments will also bring with them extra affordable housing to the city - approximately 25 per cent of each scheme will be devoted to these lower cost homes. Furthermore, our plans at The Edge also include a contribution of £15,000 to Arena Link, £120,000 in bus provisions and a £77,000 sum to open space.

"Zest will bring extra open space and play facilities to the local area, as well as a contribution to education and community provision."
