Three storey living at its best in Burton With the popularity of three storey living still on the rise, it’s reassuring to know that househunters in Burton Upon Trent are spoilt for choice, thanks to Miller Homes West Midlands.

Whilst three storey homes date back to Victorian times, the award-winning housebuilder is seeing more demand for family homes that provide flexibility and the townhouse offers just that.

A range of three and four bedroom townhouses are available at its Hopwood and Abbeyfields developments, including the spacious three bedroom Tutbury home at Abbeyfields, which provides fantastic flexible living space perfect for families.

In the Tutbury, the spacious dining room and separate kitchen with breakfast area, which opens out into the garden, provide a wonderful setting for entertaining guests. Meanwhile, the elegant staircase and first floor landing lead the way to a large lounge and bedroom, and the top floor plays host to the master bedroom with ensuite, a third bedroom and separate bathroom.

Linda Androlia, regional sales director, said: “The townhouse not only provides a contemporary solution to modern day living, but it also presents an opportunity to be really creative with the layout of a new home. For example, for families with teenagers, the additional third floor space could be used as a games room, or converted into a separate living area to provide extra independence. This can often be difficult to achieve with a traditional two storey home.

“People who work from home also benefit from three story living as the extra space can be turned into a study, making it easier to separate home and work life. “

Both Abbeyfields and Hopwood developments are currently offering a number of properties under the Government’s HomeBuy Direct scheme, which makes this selection of homes affordable to first time buyers, key workers and current households earning less than £60,000 who cannot afford to buy a property on the open market.

Under the scheme, buyers will have the opportunity to purchase 100 percent of their home by paying 70 percent of the value, with both Miller Homes and the Government equally funding the remaining 30 percent. The 30 percent equity loan will only become repayable after 25 years or when the customer sells their home, whichever comes first.

One of the big bonuses of the scheme is that the equity loan is only repayable after 25 years, and there is no interest payable for the first five years.

Homebuyers interested in the scheme are urged to visit either development on 28th and 29th March, where Miller Homes will be hosting a special HomeBuy Direct weekend, where experts will be on hand to answer questions about the scheme.

Properties at Abbeyfields range from £109,950 for a two bedroom apartment to £162,950 for a Tutbury style townhouse. Properties at Hopwood range from £89,950 for a two bedroom apartment to £194,950 for a four bedroom townhouse. However, with HomeBuy Direct, you only pay 70 percent upfront.
