Couple fall in love with Coventry show home

Having only ever lived in Victorian and Edwardian properties, the couple and their two-year-old daughter Lucy went on the hunt for a new-build home and were immediately drawn to the vast number of housetypes that fitted their needs and their budget at the popular Banner Lane development.
“We spent around three months looking for a suitable three-bedroom home that matched our requirements," says Dafydd, 32, a warehouse supervisor for ToysRUs.
"We were very keen to have a large lounge and a kitchen that was big enough to have a dining area, and a downstairs cloakroom.
"When we visited the development there was a great range of homes available, all within our budget, but we fell in love with the 'Chiltern' showhome – so we bought it!
“This not only fitted the bill perfectly – it had the extra bonus of the fourth bedroom and this meant that even if we have another child there will always be a guest bedroom or office space."
Because it was a former showhome, the spacious semi-detached property came with carpets, curtains, mirrors and light fittings, and appliances to the large open-plan fitted kitchen and dining room, with French doors leading outside.
Downstairs, their home also features a utility room and living room, while upstairs there are four bedrooms, one with an en-suite shower room, and a main family bathroom. Outside there is a single garage and a landscaped garden.
Having sold their own home in Earlsdon in Coventry, Dafydd and Bryony, 30, a primary school teacher, simply had to move in and start enjoying family life in a new home where the attention to detail and design throughout meant nothing more had to be done.
Adds Dafydd: "As well as offering us the ideal home, the development was also ideally located for us on the outskirts of the city, close to countryside, near good schools and near our work and families.
"The home is everything we hoped it would be. It's spacious, well planned and designed, well insulated and as a result economical – which is important. And from a location perspective it's very enjoyable to live in quiet surroundings with friendly neighbours."
