Home-owners Geoff and Thelma Proffitt have saved themselves the hassle of selling their old house, by ‘swapping’ it for a brand new place at George Wimpey’s Farriers Keep development in Newcastle-Under-Lyme, Staffordshire.

“We had put our old house on the market, but then we had a call from Sue, the Sales Executive at Farriers Keep, to say that they would buy it from us in part-exchange for the ‘Brooke’. Thelma is very philosophical about these things, and after receiving that call it did seem that it was ‘meant to be’!

“By part-exchanging, we simply agreed a price for our old home with George Wimpey and they completed much of the paperwork for us. They then gave us regular updates on how the construction of our new house was coming along, and when the time came, they paid for our removals.

“The process of moving was easy and part-exchange gave us complete peace of mind, especially since we agreed the selling price in December and could look forward to Christmas without having to worry about marketing our house.”

The ‘Brooke’ housetype which Geoff and Thelma (57), both who work for the NHS, chose features a spacious lounge with doors to the rear garden, a fitted kitchen, a dining room, a guest cloakroom, and an integral garage which can also be accessed from the entrance hallway.

Upstairs, the master bedroom benefits from an en-suite shower room, with a main bathroom serving the two additional bedrooms.
