Cannock site manager gets stamp of approval

For the second consecutive year, Wayne Berry, site manager at Persimmon’s Chenet Park development in Cannock, has scooped a national award for quality.

Wayne from Wednesfield near Wolverhampton, has scooped a coveted Pride in the Job award from the National House Building Council (NHBC) – an award established to reward quality management and raise the standard of service to homebuyers.

Awards are judged externally by the NHBC from a total of 17,000 construction sites in the UK and the 'Pride in the Job' award is only given to the top 400 site managers, rewarding the top three per cent those who demonstrate an outstanding commitment to the highest quality workmanship.

For over a year, NHBC inspectors have made spot check visits at Chenet Park, assessing Wayne’s performance at key stages of the construction of all new homes, from foundations to the finished product, focusing on all the day-to-day workings of the development.

Commenting on his achievement, Wayne said: “To have won the award once was fantastic so I’m over the moon to have received it for a second consecutive year.
