Dream result in Newbiggin-by-the-Sea

Dream result in Newbiggin-by-the-Sea The introduction of Barratt’s Dream Start scheme to The Carrs in Newbiggin-by-the-Sea certainly proved a hit with first-time buyers when five homes were snapped up in the first weekend.

The scheme, which is exclusively designed for first-time buyers, allows purchasers to buy a brand new home without a deposit and pay only 75 per cent of the purchase price with the remaining 25 per cent deferred - without interest or rent - for up to 10 years, or until the house is resold.

Barratt Newcastle sales adviser Andrew Somerville was inundated with enquiries within moments of the scheme going ‘live’ on its first weekend and now he only has one home remaining for sale on the scheme at The Carrs.

“The Dream Start scheme can make a massive difference between being able to afford to buy a brand new home or not so its not surprising we had such a huge uptake from day one,” said Andrew.

“Under this scheme, the deferred amount is paid back as 25 per cent of the property’s open market value, within 10 years. That means the house belongs to the purchaser 100 per cent from day one and buyers can realise their dream of home ownership at a fantastic price.”

Although Andrew only has one Dream Start incentive still available buyers can choose from a range of properties to take it on including a 3 bedroom Brandon priced at £132,500 or £99,375 under the Dream Start option or a 3 bedroom Palmerston originally priced at £143,500 which can be purchased for £107,625.

Features of the Brandon include an entrance lobby, open-plan lounge with staircase, fitted kitchen with oven, hob and extractor, plus ample dining space and French doors into the back garden; there is also a downstairs wc. A principal bathroom serves two double bedrooms and a single bedroom.

The Palmerston features an entrance hallway leading to a downstairs wc and into the open plan lounge with staircase. The lounge in turn leads into a fitted kitchen with dining area to seat five people and there are French doors into the back garden. Upstairs there are two double bedrooms, a single bedroom and a bathroom.

The Carrs development benefits from a regeneration of the coast at Newbiggin, offering residents the chance to relax and enjoy the fresh sea breeze. The town is well located for the A189 spine road with links to Cramlington and North Tyneside. It is also within easy access of Morpeth and the A1 via the A197.

The sales office is open daily from 11am to 6pm, closed Wednesday and Thursday.
