Knightsbridge Court, recommended by friends

Knightsbridge Court, recommended by friends When Mick Featon moved to his brand new home at Knightsbridge Court, he loved it so much he couldn’t wait to tell friends. And now, thanks to his enthusiasm for life at the George Wimpey Midland development, best pals Darrel and Sharon Carter are set to become his new neighbours.

It’s the perfect lifestyle for Mick (45) and partner Melinda (46), who moved into their ‘Abraham’ housetype at Knightsbridge Court in June.

Mick, who works for Rolls-Royce - Air BP in Derby, explains: “Melinda and I were already living in a new property, at Hilton in Derbyshire, but decided to look for a smaller detached home to reduce our mortgage.

“When we visited Knightsbridge Court, we were looking at the four-bedroom ‘Leigh’, but after speaking to the sales executive we discovered we could actually afford the bigger ‘Abraham’ housetype.

“It’s not exactly the downsize we had prepared ourselves for, with four bedrooms, three bathrooms and lovely bay windows, and we even had money spare to create interiors just the way we wanted using George Wimpey’s Options Centre. Now we have a kitchen and carpets and fitted wardrobes just the way we wanted them – and we even chose the door handles!

Once settled, the couple invited friends Darrel and Sharon around – who were so impressed they immediately reserved their ‘Abraham’ – right across the street from Mick and Melinda.

“We go back 15 years as friends,” says Mick, “We go on holidays together and each week we have a meal at each other’s homes.

“Now they’re going to be living across the road we’re already planning a champagne and strawberry breakfast on our patio to celebrate their arrival, and, when the sun moves around to their garden in the afternoon, we’ll be there for a barbecue and a few beers!”

Properties currently available at Knightsbridge Court include three bedroom designs available from £183,995, four-bedroom homes from £229,995, and luxury six-bedroom properties starting at £350,000.

Knightsbridge Court is conveniently located within a mile of the centre of Spondon village centre, home to a selection of shops and facilities including a supermarket, public houses, a library, a cinema, a primary school and a secondary school.

A wider range of amenities and schools can be found in Derby, just a few minutes’ drive from the development.

The area is also home to a great many leisure attractions, including Alton Towers, the American Adventure Park, Elvaston Castle and Country Park, and Swadlincote Ski Centre.

For commuters the A52 is a short distance from the development, providing easy links to Nottingham and Derby, while the M1 north is just three miles away.

George Wimpey Midland’s exclusive new Options Centre offers the chance to add those essential personal touches to make a new property a home.

An extensive and cost-effective selection of carpets, flooring, luxury fittings, soft furnishings and a wealth of contemporary design ideas ensure each customer will be spoilt for choice.

George Wimpey also offers a range of deals tailor-made for all types of buyers, and for those with a property to sell, the leading housebuilder’s ‘easymover’ programme offers a range of attractive incentives on selected properties.

Further information is available by visiting the Sales Centre, located off Nottingham Road, Borrowash, and open seven days a week from 11am to 5pm.
