Easy living for busy working couple

Easy living for busy working couple Young couple Keith Harrison and Emily Shrimpton found their money went a lot further by moving out of Birmingham to The Coppice, Bryant Homes’ prestigious development in Swadlincote, Derbyshire – and have cut their commute to work.

The couple sold Emily’s flat thanks to Bryant’s Market Mover scheme, which helps home-owners to sell an existing property quickly, and pays the estate agents’ fees.

“We had tried to sell the flat in the usual way, but it was slow,” explains Keith (31), who was renting a home in Birmingham. “Using Market Mover Bryant helped to speed up the sale without us losing out financially.”

The couple had been looking for the right property for nearly three years – but it was the value for money that The Coppice offered, combined with a location that better suited their working lives, that helped Keith (31) and Emily (36) decide that they had finally found the house for them.

“Moving to Swadlincote has cut down on our commuting time and we have a lot more house for our money,” says Keith, a manufacturing engineer based six miles away in Burton-On-Trent. “If we had chosen to live somewhere like Lichfield, we would only have been able to afford a two-bedroom place.”

After looking around various new developments, Keith and logistics manager Emily found the attractive four-bedroom ‘Swale’ was the best value for money, and of all the new homes they looked at, they found that it had the best finish.

Bryant completes its homes to a high standard specification, including fitted kitchen with oven hob and hood – and the opportunity to add finishing touches and styling options from Bryant Homes interiors range, the ‘Swale’ features a kitchen/breakfast room with utility room, a large main reception room spanning the full width of the house, a second reception room and a cloakroom off the entrance hallway.

Upstairs, the landing leads to a magnificent master bedroom with en-suite, three further bedrooms and a main bathroom.

This practical yet affordable family home is available now for £174,995.

Keith and Emily are delighted with their new home, a corner plot with a good-size garden, which was ready for them to move into as soon as Emily’s apartment was sold.

Now the couple is looking forward to spring, when they will be able to go for walks and cycle in the beautiful wooded areas and nature reserves close to The Coppice.

Customers can currently choose from a range of homes suitable for first-time buyers and those moving up the property ladder, including the three-bedroom ‘Witham’ available from £139,995 and four-bedroom detached homes ranging from £174,995 to £219,995.

The Coppice lies within the heart of the new National Forest, with woodland trails and acres of grasslands on the doorstep. The area will also be well served by new bus services and cycleway routes, while a new link road to the south will serve the development along with traffic-free pedestrian networks.
