Couple buy new home after year of watching

Couple buy new home after year of watching Having kept a keen eye on the property market for the past year, Martin and Denise Rowe snapped up their brand new home for a great price at George Wimpey’s Knightsbridge Court development in Borrowash near Derby.

The couple had seen the stylish four-bedroom ‘Leigh’ showhome 12 months earlier, and after playing a waiting game and watching prices fall, they decided the time was right to make their reservation.

“Once we had reserved our new home we used George Wimpey’s Easymover scheme,” says Martin. “This meant we didn’t have to sell our old home, which was in nearby Hilton – George Wimpey did that for us in just five weeks, and paid for the estate agents and the Home Information Pack.”

The couple also received free removals, meaning that when Martin returned from work on the day before the move, everything was packed and ready to go.

“The Sales Executive and the staff at Knightsbridge Court were very helpful, and having moved with a different housebuilder before, I feel George Wimpey got their assistance with moving and after-sales care just about right,” adds Martin. “For us, waiting until now to move paid off and everything fell into place.”

Martin and Denise are both engineers at Rolls-Royce in Derby, and chose the location so that they could be close to their families, in a home they can enjoy for years to come.

Because it was a former showhome, the detached property came with carpets, curtains, mirrors and light fittings, and appliances to the large, fitted kitchen. Their home also features a utility room, a dining room and a spacious lounge with bay window. Two of the four bedrooms have en-suite facilities while the others are served by the main bathroom. Outside there is a garage and a landscaped garden.

Customers can currently choose from three-bedroom housetypes at Knightsbridge Court starting at £149,995, and four-bedroom detached homes from £229,995.

George Wimpey offers a range of deals tailor-made for all types of buyers, and for those with a property to sell, the Easymover programme provides attractive incentives on selected properties.

Homes at Knightsbridge Court are close to the countryside and a selection of local shops and facilities including a supermarket, public house and a library.

Schools and health facilities can be found in Derby, just a few minutes’ drive away, in addition to bars, restaurants, nightlife, shopping and entertainment. The region is also home to a great many leisure attractions, including Alton Towers, Elvaston Castle and Country Park, and Swadlincote Ski Centre.

For commuters, the A52 is a short distance from the development, providing easy links to Nottingham and Derby, while the M1 north is just three miles away.

Further information is available by visiting the Sales Centre, located off Nottingham Road, Borrowash, and open Thursdays to Mondays 11am to 5pm and online at Georgewimpey.co.uk.
